Volunteering with QuadballUK is like joining a family – we work together, play together, support and build each other up in our mutual journey, collaborating towards the single aim of developing the sport of quadball in the United Kingdom.

To apply for a volunteer position in QuadballUK, we ask that you first read the position description on this page and then fill out the form. Junior roles are typically 2 hours or less commitment, though some reach 5-6 hours during peak times (e.g. around a tournament). Though slightly more varied, Senior roles are typically 2-4 hours per week with some reaching reaching 7-8 during peak times. Executive roles average 2-6 hours during quiet times, making them the most varied, and they can reach 6-8 during peaks with some positions clocking more than 10 hours per week. From time to time we also advertise temporary positions, low commitment roles working on a specific project.

Presidential Department

Oversee the direction and leadership of QuadballUK as a sport and organisation. Department workload includes executive decision making, partner relationship management, supervising volunteers and projects, policy drafting, representing QuadballUK nationally and internationally, and chairing regular meetings.

Vice President

Executive Level Volunteer (2-6 hours per week)
The Vice President supports the president, acts as a National and International Representative of QuadballUK and supports the development of the Sport and the community. They help guide the Executive Management Team and are a full voting partner alongside the President and Operations Director. This role is great for anyone interested in leadership, communicating a vision and enabling a team to develop for the future.

Secretary

Senior Level Volunteer (2-6 hours per week)
The Secretary minutes QUK meetings, responds to emails, assists the president and vice president. They work with the Executive Management Team to keep everyone organised. This role is great for anyone interested in administration or with skills in communication and organisation.

Clubs Department

The main point of contact for clubs regarding support and development. Department workload includes developing grants, identifying areas for expansion, assisting new and developing clubs, player transfers, improving the standard of play through coaching programmes, directing communication between clubs and QuadballUK leadership.

Northern Expansion Manager

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)

The Expansion Managers support players looking to set up new teams in their respective regions, as well as existing clubs looking to grow. They offer advice to committees and recommend resources to get teams started and provide a platform for existing teams to reach a new level. Although Expansion managers focus primarily on their own region, they can collaborate with other managers as needed and can expect support from the Clubs Director. Anyone with a passion for seeing their region grow will be ideal for this role. Applications are only open to those living in this region.

Midlands Expansion Manager

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)

The Expansion Managers support players looking to set up new teams in their respective regions, as well as existing clubs looking to grow. Although Expansion managers focus primarily on their own region, they can collaborate with other managers as needed and can expect support from the Clubs Director. Coaching Development Coordinator

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)
The Coaching Development Coordinator develops resources to support club coaches. They report to the Clubs Director but can expect to collaborate with Expansion Managers and volunteers in the Gameplay department to identify key areas for development across teams and regions. Individuals with coaching experience are highly desirable.

Clubs Officer

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)

The Clubs Officer work as a point of contact for clubs regarding support and development. They report to the Clubs Director but have the opportunity to work with different departments. This is a great starting point for Club expansion and engagement; works well for a flexible schedule and adds a boost to your skillset!

Events Department

Oversee the creation, development, and management aspects of official QuadballUK events. Department workloads include event bidding, schedules and formatting, venue search, third-party accreditation, and tournament direction.

Scheduling Coordinator

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)

The Scheduling Coordinators develops and oversees the tools which drive QuadballUK's events. Their responsibilities include oversight of our events data structures, management of our team submission forms, and organisation of tournament schedules.

This role reports primarily to the Events Director, but you will be working with the Gameplay and Media departments on a regular basis.

The role requires experience developing forms and managing complex spreadsheets. Experience with tournament scheduling is also required.

Gameplay Department

Oversee the creation and development of resources and training for referees and flag runners across QuadballUK. Department workload includes rulebook adjustments, training resources, field testing, and standardisation of official ability across QuadballUK tournaments and leagues.

Assistant Gameplay Director

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)
The Assistant Gameplay Director works closely with the Gameplay Director, overseeing projects to develop the UK's referees, snitches, and the sport more generally. Experience as a player and referee is highly desirable, and while team management skills will be a big plus this role offers plenty of room for growth and development in that area.

Flag Runner Development Coordinator

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)

We’re looking for experienced flag runners to help recruit, train, and develop new flag runners across the UK. A good working knowledge of the flag running rules is essential, and some experience refereeing will also serve you well.

Media Department

Oversee all aspects of QuadballUK media and marketing. Department workload includes social media management, film and photography, copywriting, public relations and releases, content creation, website development, graphic design, and media resource creation for clubs.

Assistant Media Director

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)
This role involves working closely with the Media Director to grow QUK’s presence both on and offline, to our own community and the wider public. Responsibilities include helping oversee projects and liaising with other volunteers to improve our reach and produce new, innovative content. Experience writing, editing, and publishing different media is essential, and while team management skills will be a big plus this role offers plenty of room for growth and development in that area.

Social Media Officer

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
We're looking for someone with experience creating, planning and running content on social media pages. This role will work closely with other departments to schedule important releases and ensure the community is kept informed of QUK activities.

Design Assistant

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
We're looking for someone with graphic design experience and a portfolio of consistently excellent visual work. This is an ad hoc role and will involve researching new design projects as they arise, making rough sketches and preparing content for release.

Operations Department

Oversee the financial, legal, and logistical aspects to QuadballUK. Department workload includes merchandise, budgeting, expenses, sponsorships, and policy oversight.

Assistant Operations Director

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)
The Assistant Operations Director assists the Operations Director by compiling financial reports for events and the end-of-year, advising tournament committees on operational needs, and supporting refunding volunteer expenses.

The Assistant Director reports to the operations Director but can expect to work with other department heads regarding their budgets.

This role is great for focused, detail-oriented individuals with experience in managing budgets, and is comfortable juggling numbers.

Technology

Oversee the software which underpins QuadballUK's work. Department workload includes development and maintenance of our website, membership system, scouting system, and scheduling integration. We are looking for volunteers with web development experience handling production projects and data as a requirement but do not require candidates to have experience in specific tools.

Technology Director

Executive Level Volunteer

The Technology Director is responsible for overseeing the QuadballUK website. Day-to-day duties include handling member queries, clearing spam, maintaining the website, and working with the department to develop new interactive features. The role forms a part of the Executive Management Team, taking part in weekly update meetings and helping drive the wider development of UK Quadball.

Volunteers

Oversee the ever important recruitment and wellbeing of our volunteers. Department workload includes recruitment of volunteer staff, development and training, health and wellbeing, volunteer disciplinary matters, and identifying areas within QuadballUK that require volunteer resources.

EDI Co-chair

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)
The Equity Diversity & Inclusion committee aims to foster better access and representation within QuadballUK, with opportunities to directly give feedback to the executive management team. We're looking for someone with lived experience to join as a co-chair, jointly the key liaison between the committee and EMT.

EDI Committee Officer

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
Members of the committee input on programmes or policies from QUK, and make recommendations of projects to improve the access and representation. Initial focuses for the committee will be issues faced by Black, Asian, and ethnic minority community members, and also transgender and minority gender members.

Recruitment Officer

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
We’re looking for folks interested in boosting QUK’s volunteer recruitment efforts throughout the community and beyond. Responsibilities will include coming up with new ideas to promote our roles and helping take notes during volunteer interviews.

Wellbeing Officer

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
This is a new role working alongside the Volunteers Director and Assistant Director in developing and maintaining welfare structures to support QuadballUK volunteers. Current systems under development are volunteer office hours and regular volunteer check-ins, but we are open to applicants who have their own ideas for expanding the support we can offer.

This role reports to the Volunteers Director, but due to the nature of work will involve talking with volunteers from across QuadballUK.

Being friendly, approachable, and trustworthy are all required traits. Previous experience in a peer support role (e.g. as a club’s inclusions officer) is highly desirable, but not essential.

Youth Department

Oversee the creation and growth of youth quadball across the country by developing resources and working directly with our official Youth Quadball Partner, Enrich Education. All Youth Volunteers must have previously had a DBS check.

Youth Quadball Officer

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
The Youth Quadball Officer supports the growth and development of youth quidditch, with our partners at Enrich Education. They advise youth teams on adapting the sport to ensure safety for children, developing coaching guidelines, and connecting interested groups with resources and Enrich education.

This role links in with Gameplay and Clubs to develop resources, but your main contact will be with Enrich Education.

Experience with youth quidditch, either coordinating or running sessions, is ideal for this role. We're looking for individuals with strong communication skills, enthusiasm for the growth of the sport and the confidence to seek out and approach interested parties.

Youth Quadball Liaison

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
This role liaises between QuadballUK, Enrich, and clubs/parties organising youth quadball to help grow that element of the sport. Day to day duties will involve assisting Enrich in creating resources to promote the sport, being a point of contact with youth quadball organisers, and liaising with local QUK clubs. If you’re a great communicator then this will be the role for you! Great communication skills are a requirement, experience working with youth outreach is highly desirable.

Youth Gameplay Coordinator

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
The youth version of quadball requires amendments to rules and gameplay to ensure that it’s suitable for younger audiences. Day to day duties will involve assisting Enrich in adapting the rules of the sport and creating resources to explain the sport. If you have a keen interest in gameplay and want to be part of expanding the youth element of the sport then this is the role for you! Good knowledge of gameplay is a requirement, experience working with youth outreach is highly desirable.

National Team Volunteers

Develop, coordinate, and train the most talented players in the country at the highest levels of competitive international quadball.

Team England Head Coach

Executive Level Volunteer (2-6 hours per week)
As Head Coach you’re responsible for the development, training and performance of the talented quadball players that make up the England team on the world stage! This includes overseeing squad selection, managing the coaching team, liaising with the scouting team, developing training strategies and tactics, and working with the Manager to organise regular training. We’re looking for applicants who have a strong background in coaching, in and out of quidditch, with a vision and plan for how they’ll develop the players on the team, as well as make the team competitive on an international stage. With the switch to 3 max, a big part of the role this year will be appropriately adjusting the makeup of the training squad and the play style of the team to embrace that.

Team Scotland Head Coach

Executive Level Volunteer (2-6 hours per week)

This role is a member of the Team Scotland admin team (Manager, Assistant Manager, Head Coach) and head of the coaching team (Head Coach and Assistant Coaches)

Primary Tasks:

- Working with the rest of the admin team to schedule trainings throughout the country (minimum monthly).

- Working with the coaching team to plan trainings.

- Delivering trainings (or organising delivery of trainings).

- Attending flexible weekly meetings with the admin team to work on Team Scotland objectives.

- Develop Team Scotland and Scottish quadball players individually and as a group to play their best at any tournament.

- Putting together the training squad based on scouting and applications (with help from the admin and coaching teams)

- Selecting squads for upcoming tournaments, with help from the coaching team

Head Coach may also choose to take on additional tasks and responsibilities in conjunction with the admin team within their own interests and passions.

Team England Assistant Coach

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)
As the assistant coach you will support the roles and responsibilities held by the head coaches. This includes helping the Head Coach with squad selection, talking to scouts, and assisting on training and tactics. We’re looking for applicants who have a strong background in coaching to help take our national team to success!

National Team Assistant Head Scout

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)
Assist in organising QUK’s scouts, working with the national team managers to coordinate scouting at tournaments. This role also involves being a scout, assisting coaching leadership identify top talent across the country. You’ll gauge the performance of those who have requested to be scouted, and report to the Head Scout so they can make an informed decision about selection.

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
Want to help rep your quidditch national team? We’re searching for content creators to work closely with each of our national team staff on their social media, talking with journalists, and writing copy for the QUK website. If you want to play a part in promoting the achievements of our national team far and wide then this is the job for you!

National Team Coaching Trainee

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
This is an entry level position to allow potential coaches to learn and train with national team squads in the interests of developing coaches. As the coaching trainee you will be attending the team in a learning capacity this includes helping the Head Coach with training and tactics. We’re looking for applicants who have a strong interest in coaching and want to develop their skillset.

National Team Scout

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
Assist the national teams’ coaching leadership in identifying and recognising top-level quadball talent across the country. You will gauge performances of those who have requested to be scouted, and report to the national team coaches so they can make an informed decision about selection.
