Meet EMT of 2023

Executive

Meet EMT of 2023

QuadballUK is lead by the executive management team, who oversee the day-to-day operational and administrative work across a number of departments within the organisation. The team meet weekly to discuss recent developments, review and create new policies, and share new opportunities for growth or support to both quadball and our community. All of our members are dedicated volunteers, and work hard to make the sport the best it can be.

2023 has brought a new group of fresh faces and some familiar faces into new roles who are all dedicated to ensuring QUK continues to support the Quadball community.

We are still looking for a Technology Director to join the team and lead key developments for QUK's website and the various systems we utlilise for membership, souting and scheduling. If you want to find out more about the role, send us a message at volunteers@quidditchuk.org or submit an application below.

Declan Ramsay (he/they) - President

Year you started playing Quadball:

2017

Why you chose to volunteer with QUK:

I am volunteering as President because I want to give back to a sport that has given me so much; working to grow this sport and our community while reinforcing the values that make this community so special. We are at a crucial moment as a sport as we grow post-pandemic and I look forward to seeing how far we can go!

Current hyper fixation/hobby:

Current hobbies are making sure I go out for runs and to the gym, and rewatching Buffy.

Werewolves of London

Alexandria Freeman (she/her) - Vice President

Year you started playing Quadball:

2019

Why you chose to volunteer with QUK:

I became vice-president because I wanted to see Quadball come into its own as a sport and help it become a commonly played game. I have dedicated four years of my life to the community and I plan to give a lot more. We have so many wonderful people in this community and my team became a second family to me, helping me find footing in a sport so unlike anything I'd done before.

Current hyper fixation/hobby:

My current hyper fixations are needlework and my five budgies, Snitch, Quaffle, Beater, Chaser and Seeker.

Amanda Baillie (she/her) - Secretary

Year you started playing Quadball:

2023

Why you chose to volunteer with QUK:

I knew a bit about how EMT worked from having friends already volunteering and I wanted to help them out and do more fun things with them!

Current hyper fixation/hobby:

I am currently being shown a carefully curated selection of movies because I foolishly admitted to not having seen many “old” ones.
I am also buying concert tickets before I think about who will go with me

Megan Golding (they/them) - Clubs Director

Year you started playing Quadball:

Est. In Quadball 2017

Why you chose to volunteer with QUK:

I am volunteering as Clubs Director as I want to support the wonderful clubs, teams and players that make up our NGB. The clubs department has a strong foundation of volunteers in James the assistant director and the fantastic expansion managers Becca, Amber and Max. This season we're looking to give a voice to all of the community, help grow the sport and build a NGB that serves its members.

Current hyper fixation/hobby:

My current hobbies are building DnD dice boxes for my friends and doing DIY around the house.

Jepha Krieg (she/they) - Events Director

Year you started playing Quadball:

I started playing when I moved to the UK in 2015.

Why you chose to volunteer with QUK:

I chose to volunteer as Events Director because I saw the need for volunteers and Events is the area where I have the most experience.  I also wanted to lead by example and encourage retired players to volunteer, in whatever capacity they can, instead of leaving the sport. Quadball couldn't happen without the Events department and I'm very proud to be a part of that.

Current hyper fixation/hobby:

Current hyper fixation is playing Overcooked and marathoning Game Changer.

Josh Armitage (any pronouns) - Gameplay Director

Year you started playing Quadball:

May 2014

Why you chose to volunteer with QUK:

I am volunteering as Gameplay Director because I want to give our members the resources and opportunities to gain confidence in playing and officiating this amazingly diverse sport we all know and love. The gameplay department are currently looking for an assistant director and a flag runner development coordinator to help with several projects we have lined up for the 2023/24 season.

Current hyper fixation/hobby:

Outside of quadball I'm a research fellow in surface engineering; and my hobbies include running, rock climbing, and playing guitar.

Gemma Gedling (she/her) - Media Director

Year you started playing Quadball:

2014

Why you chose to volunteer with QUK:

I chose to volunteer as Media Director as I wanted to continue making a material difference in the QuadballUK community even though I’m currently on an indefinite hiatus in a playing capacity. I also have a passion for media and marketing generally, where I believe I can also bring some fresh ideas to the media team and QUK’s media content/strategy.

Current hyper fixation/hobby:

Current hyperfixations are Pokemon Go and all of the Below Deck TV shows

Jake Adcock (he/him) - Operations Director

Year you started playing Quadball:

Early 2019

Why you chose to volunteer with QUK:

I currently hold the position of the Operations Director with QUK. As somebody who works in law as a profession I felt it was prudent to lend my talents to a sport I care about and want to help thrive and succeed. My goals in the Operations department are simple, keep QuK financially viable and stable, while keeping costs for our playerbase feasible on an individual level, and make sure we don't encounter any lawsuits!

Current hyper fixation/hobby:

On a personal level, I am currently flitting between multiple playthroughs of Baldurs Gate 3, dealing with my atrocious backlog of unpainted Warhammer miniatures and juggling DM'ing multiple Dungeons and Dragons campaigns for friends.

Michał Kreft (he/him) - Technology Director

Year you started playing Quadball:

2018

Why you chose to volunteer with QUK:

I chose to volunteer as Director because the previous Tech Director decided to step up to being President and I was the Assistant Director. I chose to volunteer as Assistant Director because I thought I could help QUK with some technical know-how that I got from a few years of coding professionally.

Current hyper fixation/hobby:

I spend lots of time on quadball

Werewolves of London

technology@quidditchuk.org

Milo To (they/them) - Volunteers Director

Year you started playing Quadball:

2018

Why you chose to volunteer with QUK:

I recently came into the role of Volunteers Director after deciding I had been in the community long enough and felt like it was time to give back. I want to make sure QUK continues to grow and develop whilst keeping it's volunteers' wellbeing as a top priority. The Volunteers department are looking for recruitment officers and wellbeing officers to help achieve this.

Current hyper fixation/hobby:

Why choose one? My current hyperfixations are Magic the Gathering, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the kingdom, One Piece, and League of Legends Arcane!
