After four years of leading Team Wales, Lucy and Chazz have made the decision to step down as Team Manager and Head Coach to pass the team on to the next generation. QUK would like to thank both Lucy and Chazz for all the time, dedication and hard-work they have put into Team Wales and the Welsh Quadball Community. We hope both of you take some well-earned rest! 

Lucy and Chazz will be officially stepping down from their roles after the European Games this Summer, which is being hosted in London this year. Quadball UK and Team England are delighted to announce that our new sponsor for the front of the shirt for the 2024/25 season will be Partners in Health, via author John Green (The Fault in Our Stars, Turtles All the Way Down). 

Partners in Health's mission statement reads in part "Our mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. By establishing long-term relationships with sister organizations based in settings of poverty, Partners In Health strives to achieve two overarching goals: to bring the benefits of modern medical science to those most in need of them and to serve as an antidote to despair."

Quadball UK President Dec Ramsay said "I am absolutely thrilled to have John and Rosianna partner with us at this incredible time for Quadball as we look to grow in the 2024/25 season. England will be proudly wearing the Partners in Health logo on their new kits which will debut at the home European Games this summer. We all are united in the importance sport plays in growing communities and we are so excited to start this new partnership!"

The England team will be releasing their new kit, with the Partners in Health logo on the chest, shortly for purchase via VC Ultimate.

This announcement is just the first step as we prepare to host the European Games. For athletes and teams, details such as team and player registration, accommodation, and more will be posted shortly by the IQA. 

To the UK Quadball community, we will need all the help we can get to make this the biggest and best event possible - this is an incredible opportunity to help build the sport and anyone interested in volunteering should get in touch with the IQA or QUK.

London to host IQA European Games 2024

After four years of service, Bex Lowe has stepped down as Team England Manager.

Bex has been a crucial part of the Team England leadership as she held the position over the transition from Team UK to Team England, and overseen the team go from strength to strength. Winning European Games 2022, the recent 4th place finish at World Cup shows Team England is firmly one of the best teams in the world. On top of official tournaments Team England has also regularly co-organised friendlies and local competitions including appearances in Genoa, Italy in 2022, Ghent, Belgium in March this year, and QUK's own W.I.S.E. Cup in Edinburgh, Scotland in June. These events and continued successes show Team England's growth as a team and a testament to Bex's leadership.

When asked about her time managing England over the years, Bex had this to say about their journey as Manager coming to a close:

"It's been an absolute pleasure to manage Team UK and then Team England. As a player I've always taken pride in the medals and trophies we've won as a team but I've also had the satisfaction as manager of seeing the squad grow and develop into a strong, supportive and professional organisation. I want to thank all of the coaches and team staff I've worked with over the years who've contributed so much to our development as well as all of of the training squad players who give their all to the team every season. You've all made being Team Manager one of the most rewarding experiences I've had in Quadball."

Thank you for all of your hard work over the years, Bex. Your efforts and England's success throughout the last couple of years has been nothing but phenomenal. QUK wish you all the best for what's coming your way!

Regardless of England's finish at World Cup, Bex Lowe had planned to step down from her role as Team England's Manager after four years in post, with QUK now looking for a successor.

Team England recently went to Richmond, Virginia, USA to compete in the IQA World Cup. After a strong group stage with 4 wins; England advanced through the bracket until a close loss in the semi-final against Germany 60-110*, and then faced previous World Cup silver medalists Belgium in the bronze medal match. A tight and cagey game, Belgium secured the catch and Team England lost 60-120*, finishing the tournament in 4th place.

QUK are immensely proud of the Team England athletes and staff who showed dogged determination in challenging conditions and against tough opposition, showing the very best of English talent at the World Cup.

Along with the twenty five Team England athletes and accompanying team staff attending the tournament, QUK was further represented internationally by several QUK players as staff and players for their nations. We also congratulate them on their successes and look forward to seeing them bring their international experience to the 23/24 season.
