Gameplay Changes Being Introduced for the 2025/2026 Season
Below we've outlined the gameplay adjustments for the 2025/2026 season.
This post will cover the new requirements for officials and volunteer quotas for tournaments, tie-breaker policies, and new information surrounding game bans from multiple yellow card offences.

Community Team Quota
Teams who play in community leagues and tournaments are expected to provide at least the following match official volunteer requirements for each fixture at which they play.
The required number of volunteers increases with the team’s roster size.
University Team Quota
Teams who play in university leagues or tournaments are expected to provide at least the following match official volunteer requirements for each fixture at which they play.
The required number of volunteers increases with the team’s roster size.
Despite the lower burden of Head Referee requirements, If University teams do have Head Referee qualified individuals, then we would please ask you to sign up as a Head Referee as well to spread the referee load across all attending teams.
1. Select as appropriate
a. Inter-group: Number of wins
b. Intra-group: Position in group
2. Final rankings: Stage of elimination - Head to Head (where applicable)
3. Highest Volleyball Point Differential (VPD), with a maximum of 90 VPD able to be accumulated from any single game.
4. Number of Winning Flag Catches (flag catches in games won either off the catch itself or in the subsequent overtime play)
5. Fewest Red Cards
6. Fewest Yellow Cards
7. Fewest Blue Cards
8. Lowest Total Regulation Time Played
9. Coin toss
