Volunteering with QuadballUK is like joining a family – we work together, play together, support and build each other up in our mutual journey, collaborating towards the single aim of developing the sport of quadball in the United Kingdom.

To apply for a volunteer position in QuadballUK, we ask that you first read the position description on this page and then fill out the form. Junior roles are typically 2 hours or less commitment, though some reach 5-6 hours during peak times (e.g. around a tournament). Though slightly more varied, Senior roles are typically 2-4 hours per week with some reaching reaching 7-8 during peak times. Executive roles average 2-6 hours during quiet times, making them the most varied, and they can reach 6-8 during peaks with some positions clocking more than 10 hours per week. From time to time we also advertise temporary positions, low commitment roles working on a specific project.

Presidential Department

Oversee the direction and leadership of QuadballUK as a sport and organisation. Department workload includes executive decision making, partner relationship management, supervising volunteers and projects, policy drafting, representing QuadballUK nationally and internationally, and chairing regular meetings.

Vice President

Executive Level Volunteer (2-6 hours per week)
The Vice President supports the president, acts as a National and International Representative of QuadballUK and supports the development of the Sport and the community. They help guide the Executive Management Team and are a full voting partner alongside the President and Operations Director. This role is great for anyone interested in leadership, communicating a vision and enabling a team to develop for the future.

Clubs Department

The main point of contact for clubs regarding support and development. Department workload includes developing grants, identifying areas for expansion, assisting new and developing clubs, player transfers, improving the standard of play through coaching programmes, directing communication between clubs and QuadballUK leadership.

Coaching Development Coordinator

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)
The Coaching Development Coordinator develops resources to support club coaches. They report to the Clubs Director but can expect to collaborate with Expansion Managers and volunteers in the Gameplay department to identify key areas for development across teams and regions. Individuals with coaching experience are highly desirable.

Clubs Officer

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)

The Clubs Officer work as a point of contact for clubs regarding support and development. They report to the Clubs Director but have the opportunity to work with different departments. This is a great starting point for Club expansion and engagement; works well for a flexible schedule and adds a boost to your skillset!

Events Department

Oversee the creation, development, and management aspects of official QuadballUK events. Department workloads include event bidding, schedules and formatting, venue search, third-party accreditation, and tournament direction.

Scheduling Coordinator

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)

The Scheduling Coordinator develops and oversees the tools which drive QuadballUK's events. Their responsibilities include oversight of our events data structures, management of our team submission forms, and organisation of tournament schedules.

This role reports primarily to the Events Director, but you will be working with the Gameplay and Media departments on a regular basis.

The role requires experience developing forms and managing complex spreadsheets. Experience with tournament scheduling is also required.

Equipment Officer

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)

The Equipment Officers work within the Events department to manage and maintain QUK’s tournament equipment. They also led on setting up and packing down all equipment for Quadball UK events. These roles require a good level of organisation, a knowledge of proper quadball pitch set-up and the skills needed to assess and repair problems with equipment as needed. No specific experience is required, making this an excellent entry-level role.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Maintain an accurate stock count of all of Quadball UK’s tournament equipment
  • Organise the storage facility containing Quadball UK’s tournament equipment to allow for easy access as required
  • Carry out repairs on Quadball UK’s tournament equipment as required or arrange for replacement equipment to be purchased
  • Support in the transfer of Quadball UK’s equipment to transport vehicles and back to the storage facility in line with the tournament planning schedule
  • Lead on the setting up and packing down of equipment at Quadball UK events
  • Support the Events Director with the creation of training and support resources for this role

Gameplay Department

Oversee the creation and development of resources and training for referees and flag runners across QuadballUK. Department workload includes rulebook adjustments, training resources, field testing, and standardisation of official ability across QuadballUK tournaments and leagues.

Assistant Gameplay Director

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)
The Assistant Gameplay Director works closely with the Gameplay Director, overseeing projects to develop the UK's referees, snitches, and the sport more generally. Experience as a player and referee is highly desirable, and while team management skills will be a big plus this role offers plenty of room for growth and development in that area.

Flag Runner Development Coordinator

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)

We’re looking for experienced flag runners to help recruit, train, and develop new flag runners across the UK. A good working knowledge of the flag running rules is essential, and some experience refereeing will also serve you well.

Media Department

Oversee all aspects of QuadballUK media and marketing. Department workload includes social media management, film and photography, copywriting, public relations and releases, content creation, website development, graphic design, and media resource creation for clubs.

Social Media Officer

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
We're looking for someone with experience creating, planning and running content on social media pages. This role will work closely with other departments to schedule important releases and ensure the community is kept informed of QUK activities.

Operations Department

Oversee the financial, legal, and logistical aspects to QuadballUK. Department workload includes merchandise, budgeting, expenses, sponsorships, and policy oversight.

Operations Department

Oversee the software which underpins QuadballUK's work. Department workload includes development and maintenance of our website, membership system, scouting system, and scheduling integration. We are looking for volunteers with web development experience handling production projects and data as a requirement but do not require candidates to have experience in specific tools.

Technology Director

Executive Level Volunteer

The Technology Director is responsible for overseeing the QuadballUK website. Day-to-day duties include handling member queries, clearing spam, maintaining the website, and working with the department to develop new interactive features. The role forms a part of the Executive Management Team, taking part in weekly update meetings and helping drive the wider development of UK Quadball.


Oversee the ever important recruitment and wellbeing of our volunteers. Department workload includes recruitment of volunteer staff, development and training, health and wellbeing, volunteer disciplinary matters, and identifying areas within QuadballUK that require volunteer resources.

EDI Committee Officer

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
Members of the committee input on programmes or policies from QUK, and make recommendations of projects to improve the access and representation. Initial focuses for the committee will be issues faced by Black, Asian, and ethnic minority community members, and also transgender and minority gender members.

Youth Department

Oversee the creation and growth of youth quadball across the country by developing resources and working directly with our official Youth Quadball Partner, Enrich Education. All Youth Volunteers must have previously had a DBS check.

Youth Quadball Officer

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
The Youth Quadball Officer supports the growth and development of youth quidditch, with our partners at Enrich Education. They advise youth teams on adapting the sport to ensure safety for children, developing coaching guidelines, and connecting interested groups with resources and Enrich education.

This role links in with Gameplay and Clubs to develop resources, but your main contact will be with Enrich Education.

Experience with youth quidditch, either coordinating or running sessions, is ideal for this role. We're looking for individuals with strong communication skills, enthusiasm for the growth of the sport and the confidence to seek out and approach interested parties.

Youth Quadball Liaison

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
This role liaises between QuadballUK, Enrich, and clubs/parties organising youth quadball to help grow that element of the sport. Day to day duties will involve assisting Enrich in creating resources to promote the sport, being a point of contact with youth quadball organisers, and liaising with local QUK clubs. If you’re a great communicator then this will be the role for you! Great communication skills are a requirement, experience working with youth outreach is highly desirable.

Youth Gameplay Coordinator

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
The youth version of quadball requires amendments to rules and gameplay to ensure that it’s suitable for younger audiences. Day to day duties will involve assisting Enrich in adapting the rules of the sport and creating resources to explain the sport. If you have a keen interest in gameplay and want to be part of expanding the youth element of the sport then this is the role for you! Good knowledge of gameplay is a requirement, experience working with youth outreach is highly desirable.

Team Scotland Assistant Manager

Senior Level Volunteer (2-4 hours per week)
Quadball Scotland are looking for a new Assistant Manager!
Our admin team work together to organise trainings, attend and organise tournaments and maintain our social media presence. We work toward the improvement of all Scottish quadball, as well as coordinating Team Scotland’s international appearances.
In this role you would:

  • Attend weekly meetings online to discuss tasks and progress
  • Take on tasks to improve Scottish quadball that suit your skill set
  • Take regular breaks following busy periods
  • Commit roughly 2 hours per week (average)

Want to help rep your quidditch national team? We’re searching for content creators to work closely with each of our national team staff on their social media, talking with journalists, and writing copy for the QUK website. If you want to play a part in promoting the achievements of our national team far and wide then this is the job for you!

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
As the coaching aide you will support the roles and responsibilities held by the head and assistant coaches. This includes helping the Head Coach with training and tactics. We’re looking for applicants who have a strong background in coaching to help take our national team to success!

National Team Coaching Trainee

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
This is an entry level position to allow potential coaches to learn and train with national team squads in the interests of developing coaches. As the coaching trainee you will be attending the team in a learning capacity this includes helping the Head Coach with training and tactics. We’re looking for applicants who have a strong interest in coaching and want to develop their skillset.

National Team Scout

Junior Level Volunteer (2 hours or less per week)
Assist the national teams’ coaching leadership in identifying and recognising top-level quadball talent across the country. You will gauge performances of those who have requested to be scouted, and report to the national team coaches so they can make an informed decision about selection.
