York St John University Sports Park will host Northern Development Cup on the 1st & 2nd of November.

The fixture will be a two-day event featuring free training workshops for all members, as well coaching, refereeing, and club leadership seminars across both events!

Tournament Format

Saturday

Saturday is completely free and open for anyone who wishes to attend. This extends to non-student members, as well as members of clubs not in the catchment area - for example a member of Bristol Quadball Club could attend the Northern Saturday event or a Manchester member could attend the Southern Saturday event.

Saturday will begin in the late morning and will feature training, drills, coaching, and mixed friendly matches throughout the afternoon between those attending - intended as a warm-up ahead of the main games on Sunday.

Simultaneously, seminars will be held by senior QuadballUK figures, educating and training the next wave of volunteers and club leadership - covering coaching tips, referee workshops, and leadership insights.

Attendance is optional for the Saturday. However, we highly encourage clubs and their players to attend as this will be a great opportunity to meet the wider community, gain some new skills both on and off the pitch, and also be a great introduction to the sport.

There will also be a social on the Saturday evening, with an emphasis on meeting and getting to know other members of the community.

Sunday

Sunday will follow a more typical format, starting in the morning and allowing attending clubs to compete with each other in round robin matches.

QuadballUK will guarantee at least three games per team on the Sunday, and a focus will be made on development for both players and volunteers - allowing new referees and coaches a chance to get to grips with managing the game.

Results from these games will determine the Northern and Southern champions, as well as inform seeding for the University Championship in Spring 2026.
